How to remove a deadline from a route.
This guidance confirms how to fully remove a deadline from a workflow. This means that the deadline will be removed from all active and future jobs. Follow these steps:
- Click on the Config menu (Superuser access required).
- Click on the Edit workflow systems link.
- Click on the pencil icon alongside the workflow system you wish to edit.
- The editor will open on the routes tab and will show the last route you were viewing.
- If you wish to remove the deadline from this route then scroll down the screen until you see a list of deadlines that are included on this route. This is located below the visual editor on the right side of the screen. Click on the red X icon to remove the deadline from this workflow route.
- Repeat this for any other routes you wish to remove the deadline from. You can change the route you are viewing by using the 'Select workflow route' dropdown box towards the top right corner of the routes tab.
- If you have removed the deadline from all routes and you have no future plans to incorporate it again, then you can permanently delete the deadline from your system. To do this follow these steps:
- Navigate to the Elements tab.
- Scroll down until you see Deadlines.
- Click on the red X icon to the right of the deadline to delete it.
- At this point the deadline will be removed fully, i.e. it will not appear on your jobs report, in the Deadline monitor widget, an as option to trigger alerts or as an option in the reports writer. If you wish to export the deadline dates, do this before you delete the deadline in the jobs query editor.
Remember you can always re-create any deadline should you wish to in the future.
