How to create a new contact tag

When sending e-mail and SMS messages via Glide you have a few options for how to find the correct recipient, these are discussed here. Options 1 and 2 in this article will send messages to external clients/contacts and we recommend using option 2, this takes a little more time to setup but offer vastly more functionality.

Option 2 allows to to target a contact tag and it will send the message to any contacts that are linked to the client in question and correctly tagged. In addition you can simply apply a tag to a client ('self tag').

To do this you need to have created tags, follow these steps to set up your tags:

  1. Click on the menu labelled with your business name.
  2. Click on Contacts.
  3. Click on Contacts tag editor.
  4. Click on the green Create New Tag button.
  5. Enter the name of your tag (which must be unique) and click Save.

You'll now be able to send messages to all contacts/clients that have this tag applied. You can do this via alerts, workflow actions or bulk client messages.

You can apply tags either individually on the client card or in bulk using our links/relationships Excel import tool.
