How to change default charge rate (aka Importance order)

If you have multiple charge out rates set up then there may be occasions where you record time and have more than one charge rate to choose from, for example where more than one rate is set up for the same user etc.

On these occasions it will be beneficial to have set the importance order on your charge rates, this allows you to decide which rate should be the default rate. If you are planning to use one rate 95% of the time then by ensuring this is the default you will save a lot of time.

To do this follow these steps:

1. Click on the Config menu (superuser required).
2. Click on System options.
3. Click on the Time and fees tab.
4. Find the rate you wish to set as default and click on the pencil icon to the right of the rate to edit it.
5. Enter a value in the Importance Order box. When multiple rates apply to a time entry they will be listed in descending importance order, this means that the rate with the highest value will become the default.
6. Click save.
